Blu ray review: That Funny Feeling

Newly released to blu ray from Kino Lorber, That Funny Feeling is a delightfully fun product of its era.

Cinema of the 60s didn't really develop until 1967, so this 1965 film seems like it's from a 50s hangover period with Bobby Darin a publishing exec with a little black book of women, and Sandra Dee pulling back her eyes and affecting a Japanese accent to get a role in a play.

The film is visually very bright and colorful, as this type of film often is, and the supporting cast is terrific. Donald O’Connor, Nita Talbot, and Leo G. Carroll are among the welcome veterans.  A good director, Richard Thorpe, helms this light, amusing little comedy.

Kino’s blu ray features an audio commentary by film historian/writer Julie Kirgo and writer/filmmaker Peter Hankoff.
